We require a team of festival chefs and front of house staff to work with us on festivals and events over the summer period. We are passionate about our Southern Indian vegetarian food, and take pride in what we do.
We have some exciting summer festivals like Glastonbury, Shambala, End of the Road, Secret Garden Party, Port Eliot, Greenman, Field Day and a few more.
Have you been to India before? Or a passionate vegetarian/vegan? Or maybe you have worked on catering stalls at festivals before?
Ideally you will have a London base as transport to festivals goes from Surbiton.
We are recruiting for festival staff who can fill the following roles, we are looking for the best people to be part of the team and work across all roles:
Festival prep chefs
Festival front of house
Festival dosa chefs
- preping veg
- be in charge of keeping the fridge van in order, tidy and clean
- take fridge temperatures
- make chutneys
- fry onions and make bhaji’s
- all staff will be trained in making dosa’s
- washing up (this is done by everyone)
- Keeping the stall tidy and clean
- cash handling
- taking customer orders
- Mixing salads
- handing out customers food
When do we need you at Festivals?
Be available from mid May to mid September, some weeks we are bouncing from one festival to the next and there are a few weeks we get to have a break at home.
Hours of work can vary with a minimum of 12 hours a day, 4 to 5 days a week working, plus allow for travel time to and from the festivals, we often aim to arrive on the tuesday or wednesday and depart on the monday to go to the next festival.
You must be flexible, we are aiming to get 10 festivals in a row, ideally we want you to work every festival. You should be prepared to be away from home, living in a tent for the summer. We may make trips back to London to re-stock. A minimum requirement of 2-3 festivals is necessary, but ideally you can do the whole summer.
What’s involved at the festivals?
We are recruiting for a number of roles, prep chef’s to work in the onsite kitchen at festivals; as well as other front of house roles. You should be an all rounder and can chop an onion as well as handle customers and take orders.
You need to be prepared to assist in setting up the stall, lifting heavy equipment and cleaning and packing up at the end of the festival.
Work is fun, busy and hectic, you will get to come to some of the countries best music festivals, you must have a work hard play hard attitude.
No two days are the same, the hours can be long and physical but this job is rewarding and fun. You need to be trust worthy, and experience of working in similar roles is a big plus.
